Treatment Approach

ā€œTherapy is like water for the soulā€ is more than just a tagline. It’s how I approach my work as a psychiatric nurse practitioner and psychotherapist. I don’t merely provide symptom care, I provide soul care.

Mental health care is sacred.

I honor the nature of this work by providing holistic and individualized mental health care that centers around you.

My therapeutic approach is eclectic, meaning I borrow from many types of modalities. However, my work centers mainly on psychodynamic, psycho-spiritual, and relational frameworks.

Sometimes therapy needs a supplement, which is where medications can be beneficial.

In that regard, I specialize in using minimal medications as a tool to help treat ADHD, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and sexual dysfunction.

MEET YOUR THERAPIST

Hi there, I’m Kasha,

I am a Vanderbilt-educated, board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with extensive psychiatric nursing experience. As a psychiatric nurse, I had the privilege to work with many populations including, but not limited to incarcerated individuals, children/adolescents, Native Americans, military/government, and individuals struggling with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.

As a PMHNP, I am trained in both medication management and psychotherapy, with the latter being my passion. To further pursue that passion, I am currently enrolled in a Marriage and Family Therapy program to deepen my clinical skills as a therapist. I have also completed training in various modalities including ACT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Somatic Sexology and Relationship Coaching, Relational Life Therapy Level 1, and the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy. Additionally, I completed a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Fellowship. Rest assured, I am committed to ongoing professional development for the betterment of my patients.

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and spending time with family/friends. As a relational therapist, I believe relationships enrich our lives and traveling connects us with others. My personal philosophy is we are always better, together.
